Friday the 13th....

>> Saturday, July 14, 2007

Ohhhh this is supposed to be such a scarry day. And I guess some would view my story that way, but I dont see it that way. 6 years ago today I was in the delivery room (yep, it was friday the 13th then too) delivering my beautiful baby boy! Wanna see him? Well check this out!

Credits: Paper from Dad's Day by Me (at SDS) and frames are Variegated Metal Cluster Frames by Me (at SDS), the # 6 is from Actionfx Alpha shown below!

Time sure flies by fast! I cant believe its been 6 years already. Isnt he handsome?! I love my lil' boy so much! And today he was so awesome! On his best behavior all day! He made for a perfect birthday! I hope all weekend remains this way! His best friends birthday party is tomorrow and his on Sunday! A Cars birthday party. Wait til you see the cake I'm going to make! That is my challenge every year. To make an awesome cake! This year he requested some homemade Strawberry mint ice cream! How do they remember these things at only 6? Well, its in the fridge getting ready for final stages of Ice cream. (thank you mom for the ice cream maker!) Btw, most of my cakes have been ice cream cakes. None of us our real fans of regular cake. Lol. I think its because it gets so hot in July every year. I just started making my own the year before last. and last year I started making my own ice cream for them as well. I know I'm sick to want to do it. But I love it. I wish you could taste it! They are to die for. Last year was blueberry cheesecake and Strawberry mint!

Actionfx.com Alpha

>> Thursday, July 12, 2007

Actionfx is doing a promo offer with designers right now. And I was quick to jump on that bandwagon! Lol. I mean really, it benefits us all right? So they offered us this Alpha pack, and I put them into individual files for you. So you wouldnt have to.. :o) This is a really great site. I love everything they have there. If you are ever thinking about delving into the designing world, this site is a must see... Its worth every ounce of money spent on it. And he uploads new stuff all the time. So you will be always kept up with new stuff. If your worried that your stuff is going to look like everyone else's, dont! When he releases over 750 lines of a product a week, what are the chances that you are really going to use the same thing as another designer. Plus all of us have our own styles to begin with, so we are going to mix things up differently anyway. But I cant say enough about his tools. They just RAWK! See for yourself at http://www.actionfx.com/ & without further a do. Here is the Actionfx Alpha Pack, complete with numbers also. :o)

Please note, that everything in this preview except for my wrapper was made with actionfx.com products.

Crocodile Or Alligator

My son Sage was pestering me about when we were going to see the Crocodiles, when we were at the zoo the other day. He is a huge fan of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. So to me it was no surprise. Well I couldnt resist scrapping about it. Lol. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm pretty sure that this was an alligator not a crocodile, but shhhh....we wont tell him. Lol

Credits: Everything by me. Everything shown is future kits you will probably be seeing in the store this week. :o) That is if you want them? Lol. I'm such a tease huh?

New layout!

Ok, so its been awhile since I've done a layout. But that will change soon. I'm sucker for a good challenge, and signed myself up for the Amazing digi scrap race.... if you havent heard of it, check it out here. But this layout has absolutely nothing to do with this race. I did just cause I can. :o) I miss doing layouts. And I'm really excited to get to do this race, in hopes that it will challenge me to do some more. :o) So meanwhile check out my new layout!

Credits: Paper from Rodeo Days & elements from a soon to be kit called Rodeo Days Element Pack. :o)

The layout reads "I often forget what a small world we live in really. This 21 year old I’ve been watching for years at the St Paul Rodeo, & he would ride bulls and then jump on his horse & work as a Dodge Pickup man. The announcer would always carry on about how young, cute, & single he was. Well it seems this cute young face has gotten famous on us. Believe it or not, but this is CMT’s official winner of the “Top American Cowboy”. He just took himself $50k home. Can you believe it? I’ve watched this kid grow up in this rodeo. He’s a local cowboy, but in these parts there’s cowboys everywhere. He’s also none other than the brother to the famous Bull Rider Ross Coleman. And son to the famous cowboy Steve Coleman. I guess its running in his veins huh? "

Soooo what do you think? I love it. but then its cowboy, how could you not. :o) anyway these pics are from Cowboy Christmas at the St Paul Rodeo that I went to on Monday. The reason the cowboy is wearing pink, is because its "tuff enough to wear pink" night supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. Just so you know cowboys dont usually wear pink. Just wanted to clarify. :o) Happy Scrapping!

Rodeo Days & Freeb!

>> Monday, July 02, 2007

Yeeeehhhhaaawwww! Its Cowboy Christmas! (Atleast in these parts.) Does anyone know what Cowboy Christmas is? Just in case you dont, let me tell you all about it! :o) Cowboy Christmas is the one time of year that Cowboys work the hardest and make the most money. The PRCA has more Rodeos during the 4th of July Holiday than any other time of year, so the Cowboys race from one rodeo to the next trying to hit as many Rodeo's as the can during the holidays. Nowadays Cowboys actually fly so they can hit more rodeos, can you imagine? In the Pacific Northwest we have as many as four Rodeo's this week St Paul Rodeo, Molalla Buckaroo, Ft Vancouver, & Toppenish.

These are the highest paying rodeo's as well, people will pay the big bucks during this time, to draw in the big name cowboys. And they all want to be the next big name. The cowboy way of life is like no other. Cowboys take the biggest beatings for the lowest pay, and they do it because they have a reputation of being the toughest, the bravest, and the best of the best. If you dont believe it, try and sit on a raging bull for 8 seconds and see if you can do it. But this is the Cowboy way of life, and their aint no whining, they are tough and they will get the job done. This is what I admire about the cowboy. So if you have a rodeo in your neck of the woods, go check them out. It is worth seeing. And if Rodeo is not your cup of tea, than thats ok, but you wont walk away empty handed. Because if cowboys riding livestock is not your thing, the wrangler butts will definetly bring you back for more. :o) So what are you waiting for? Go Cowboy up, and catch yourself a rodeo during Cowboy Christmas.

Ok, so now that you are educated in what cowboy christmas is, how about checking out this paper pack I made in honor of it all:

You can find this beauty at my store at scrapdigistyle.com. This paper pack includes 5 pieces of paper all introducing different phases of Rodeo. It includes two saddlebronc papers, a barrel racing page, one bull riding, and one bull fighting. And if you are looking for a little bit more. Check out this Freebie I whipped out to go with it.

This little freebie has one paper of Wild Horse racing, One overlay, and one torn tag. It is a great add on to the paper pack shown above. I hope you enjoy it. And please feel free to send me any links to your layouts. I would love to see them. Have a great Cowboy Christmas and stay tuned for more goodies this week! Also, if you havent had the chance, check out my other goodies below. Happy Scrapping!
